Privacy

How I handle your information.

Last updated: 8 May 2026

I take privacy seriously — both because it's the law and because trust is the foundation of therapy. This policy explains what data this website collects, why, and what your rights are.

Who's responsible

Mirjam Jung is the data controller for this website. You can reach me at mirjamjung.psychology@gmail.com or on (03) 7003 2176. My full contact details are on the Imprint page.

What I collect

When you use the contact form, you provide me with:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • The message you write

When you visit any page, my hosting provider (Vercel) may automatically log your IP address, browser type, and the page you requested. This is standard server logging used for security and uptime monitoring; it isn't combined with personal information.

Why I collect it

I use the information you submit through the contact form solely to read and respond to your enquiry. I don't use it for marketing, I don't add you to any list, and I don't share it with anyone outside the processors named below.

Lawful basis (GDPR)

Where you're located in the EU/UK, the lawful basis for processing your contact-form submission is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), given when you tick the consent box and click send. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing me — see Your rights below.

Who I share it with

I use a small number of trusted service providers ("processors") to run this site. They act on my instructions and don't use your data for their own purposes:

  • Resend (resend.com) — sends contact-form messages to my inbox. Hosted in the United States; transfers covered by Standard Contractual Clauses.
  • Vercel (vercel.com) — hosts the website and stores server access logs. Hosted in the United States; transfers covered by Standard Contractual Clauses.

I don't sell, rent, or share your information with anyone else.

Cookies and similar storage

This website uses the minimum storage needed to function:

  • A small piece of saved data so the site remembers whether you prefer English or German.
  • A saved preference so the site remembers your light / dark theme choice.

Both are strictly necessary to deliver the service you've requested, so no consent banner is shown. The site does not use analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking cookies.

How long I keep your information

Contact-form submissions are kept in my email inbox for up to 12 months from your last contact, after which I delete them — unless you've become an ongoing client, in which case retention is governed by my professional record-keeping obligations under AHPRA and Australian health-records law.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Ask what data I hold about you and receive a copy.
  • Ask me to correct anything that's wrong.
  • Ask me to delete your information (subject to professional record-keeping obligations).
  • Withdraw your consent or object to processing.
  • Receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format.

To exercise any of these rights, email mirjamjung.psychology@gmail.com.

Complaints

If you believe I've handled your data improperly, please contact me first — I'd like the chance to put it right. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority: the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) for visitors in Australia, or your local data protection authority for visitors in the EU/UK.

Changes to this policy

If anything material changes — a new processor, a new purpose — I'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be flagged on the home page.

Questions

If anything here is unclear, please email mirjamjung.psychology@gmail.com — I'd rather you ask than wonder.
